A gas cylinder that exploded in a crowded bus today killed 15 people in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, police said.
The explosion occurred in the state's Morena district, about 340 kilometres north of state capital Bhopal, police said.
"Our preliminary information is 15 people were killed when a cooking cylinder kept inside a bus exploded," a spokesman said. "It may also have been kept on top of the bus."
Around 12 passengers were also injured in the explosion, which caused a fire in the bus.
