Gardai in Galway have warned businesses and racegoers to be on the alert for forged currencies, particularly the Irish pound, which they expect to be in circulation during the Galway Races.
One hundred extra gardai are to be drafted into the city as thousands of visitors are expected for the festival, which begins on Monday.
