Gardai in Limerick have appealed for witnesses to an attack on a young German tourist by a gang of youths as he went for a walk with members of his family at the Long Pavement in the city centre.

He was walking a short distance behind his parents, brother and cousin, at around 7.15 p.m., when the attack took place on Monday. Gardai at Mary Street have asked witnesses to contact them at 061417858.
