Gardaí at Ballyfermot are seeking help in tracing an 11-year-old boy who has been missing since Sunday.

Trevor Robinson, originally from the Cherry Orchard area of Ballyfermot in west Co Dublin, was returning in supervised care to temporary accommodation at an Eastern Region Health Area support unit near Blessington when he left his minders' car, crossed a number of fields and failed to return.

He was later seen in the Cherry Orchard area. The boy is described as 5' 4" in height with blue eyes and mousy brown hair.

He was wearing sand-coloured tracksuit bottoms, a grey hooded top, a blue T-shirt with the number 7 printed on it and navy blue Nike runners.

It is understood this is not the first time Trevor has gone missing, but Garda sources say they are concerned, given his age and the fact that he has been missing for almost four days. They have appealed for anyone who may be sheltering him to contact them in the boy's interests.

Anyone with information is asked to contact gardaí at Ballyfermot (01-6667200) or any Garda station.
