Gardaí have appealed for members of the public to help them in the investigation into the murder of British spy Denis Donaldson in April.
The former Sinn Féin official was expelled from Sinn Féin last December after admitting he had been a paid British spy for 20 years. He fled to a cottage near Glenties, Co Donegal, where he was shot dead on April 4th.
Gardaí do not know who killed Mr Donaldson (56). The IRA has denied involvement but it has been suggested that disgrunted former colleagues may have killed him.
It has also been suggested that his former British handlers may have had him killed.
Today gardaí appealed for anybody who may have been in or around Cloghercor, Doochary, Co Donegal, on Monday April 3rd or Tuesday April 4th to contact them.
"This appeal is aimed at persons who may have been in the area of Cloghercor or on the road between Gweebarra Bridge and Doochary the week prior to the murder and who to date have not been interviewed," a statement said.
The Garda's incident room at Glenties Garda Station can be contacted on 074 955 1080 or on the Garda confidential line at: 1800 666 111.
