Gardaí have named two teenage boys who were killed early yesterday morning when their car went out of control and hit a ditch in Co Cork.

The boys were named as 17-year-old Sean Crowley from Ballydonegan, Allihies, Co Cork, and 16-year-old Gareth Cronin from Filane, Castletownbere, Co Cork.

There were no other vehicles involved the crash, which happened at 2.45am in Cahermore, Beara, near Castletownbere.

The boys' bodies were taken to Castletownbere hospital after the crash.
