Army bomb experts were called to Roscommon this morning to investigate a suspect device discovered in the town.
The explosive device was thrown the window of an estate agents in Stone Court, Castle Street, some time between 6am and 7am, causing minor damage to the premises.
Gardaí called in the army after receiving reports that a second explosive device was in the building. The area was evacuated and sealed off while the search was carried out.
No further devices were found, but the bomb disposal team confirmed the original device was viable.
Gardaí are asking anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious in the area to come forward.
