Gardaí arrested four men last night in connection with the seizure of heroin with an estimated value of almost £1 million in Dublin.

Three of the men were arrested in Palmerstown by detectives from the Garda National Drugs Unit after six kilogrammes of the drug were found at about 8.05 p.m.

A fourth man was detained after a brief chase, a Garda spokesman said.

The men are being held at Sundrive Road Garda Station in Crumlin under Section 2 of the Drugs Trafficking Act. They can be held for up to 72 hours without charge.
