The gardai who recovered two Shetland ponies stolen from Fossett's Circus in Limerick were injured during the investigation by two youths who threw debris at them.
The detectives were investigating a criminal damage incident at Hyde Road on Tuesday evening and had found the ponies when they were attacked by two youths they were attempting to arrest.
