Gardaí in Dublin have arrested four men in connection with the fatal shooting of Mr James Curran in the city centre last weekend.

Mr Curran was shot dead as he sat in the Green Lizard pub on Francis Street in the south inner city on Sunday night.

A man later questioned in relation to the matter was released without charge and gardaí are preparing a file for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

A Garda statement today said there had been four further arrests in relation to the shooting.

"Four males were arrested this morning, 11 April, 2005, and are detained under section 30 of the offences against the state act at Kevin Street and Kilmainham Garda stations," the statement said.

The men range in age from late 30s to late 40s.
