A Garda helicopter yesterday joined in a search of Athlone and the surrounding area for a prisoner who escaped from custody while attending a remand hearing in Athlone District Court. Frankie Joyce (32), Gracepark, Athlone, had been remanded on charges related to the possession of drugs for sale.
