Three people arrested by gardai investigating the murder of a Dundalk publican, Mr Stephen Connolly, were released from Garda custody on Wednesday night after a judge refused to extend their detention period.

The two men and a woman, all in their 20s, were arrested in Dundalk on Monday under the Offences Against the State Act on suspicion of having information about firearms at Park Street, Dundalk, on July 28th last, the day of the murder.
