A final deal on the 9 per cent pay offer to rank-and-file gardai is not expected to be completed before tomorrow, according to sources close to the Garda Representative Association (GRA).
Negotiators continued in a further full-day session in Dublin yesterday and will resume today in talks about the detail of the offer. "Both sides have indicated they'd like to see this wrapped up by Friday," a Government source said. The deal is due to go to a ballot of more than 8,500 GRA members, a process that could take up to 10 days.
