Garda appeal after shots fired at Limerick house

GARDAÍ IN Limerick have appealed for witnesses following a shooting at a house in the city

GARDAÍ IN Limerick have appealed for witnesses following a shooting at a house in the city. At least two shots were fired from a shotgun at the house on Colmcille Street in St Mary’s Park at 10.15pm on Sunday.

It is understood there were two people originally from Poland in the house at the time of the attack but nobody was injured.

It is believed the shooting occurred following an earlier incident at the same address involving young children who were throwing stones at the house.

According to local people, the shots were fired after one of the occupants of the house tried to confront the children about the earlier incident.

A technical examination of the scene was carried out yesterday. Anyone with information is asked to contact Mayorstone Garda station on (061) 456 982.
