The ESB subsidiary, Hibernian Wind Energy, has suspended work on its €60 million wind-farm at Derrybrien, south Galway, for another week, following the landslide on site nine days ago.

Investigations are continuing into the cause of the landslide in the Slieve Aughty mountains, when about a kilometre of peat, 100 metres wide, rolled down the slopes through Coillte forestry.
