GAA Round-up:A late Michael Boyle goal turned the tables in Galway's favour, who ran out 1-11 to 0-12 winners against Cork in their Under-21 All-Ireland semi-final in Ennis to book their place in the final where they will meet Cavan.
For long periods Cork looked the more dominant side but Galway rallied, particularly in the latter stages, to grind out the win. Cork still led 0-11 to 0-07 heading into the final quarter but Galway kept chipping away before Boyle’s crucial goal.
Cork’s plight was not helped when All-Ireland winner Aidan Walsh was forced off injured.
In the other semi-final Cavan were 1-10 to 0-08 winners over Wexford at Parnell Park just four days after winning the Ulster title.
There was little to choose between the two sides in the opening half as they went into the break level on 0-04 apiece. Wexford's Michael Brady and Cavan’s Niall McDermott both found their range.
Wexford paid the price for too many wides as Cavan’s fitness came to the fore despite returning to action so soon after their provincial success.
As the game wore on McDermott found the net for the only goal of the game, while Jack Brady managed a number of key points to ensure victory for the Ulster champions and a final encounter with Galway.
