Galway District Court was adjourned for 20 minutes yesterday as a mark of respect to Galway solicitor Jarlath McInerney, who died following a fall at his home last Saturday.

Mr McInerney (47), from Gort, lived with his wife Jackie and their three young children at Taylor’s Hill, Salthill. He was principal of McInerney Solicitors on Prospect Hill.

A keen sportsman, he took an active role in his local GAA club.

Judge Eamon O’Brien extended his sympathies to his family.
