Jim Furyk carded a six-under-par 66 to open a one-shot lead over a group of five players midway through the Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.

Furyk has completed 36 holes at seven-under 137. Among those at 138 are first-round leader Kevin Sutherland, who struggled to shoot a 72.

Paul Stankowski fired a five-under 67 to climb from a tie for 34th into a tie for second with Sutherland, Australian Rod Pampling, Tim Herron and Tom Lehman.

Davis Love and Mark O'Meara were tied for seventh at 139, one shot ahead of a group of six golfers. Among those at 140 were Loren Roberts, Scott McCarron and Brad Faxon.
