The funeral of journalist Eugene Moloney will take place in Dublin and Donegal next week.
Mr Moloney (55) died in the early hours of Sunday after being attacked on Camden Street, Dublin, on his way home from a night out.
His removal will take place on Monday evening, arriving at the Church of Our Lady Queen of Peace, Merrion Road, Dublin, at 5.30pm. The funeral Mass will be held at 10am on Tuesday.
Burial will take place in Co Donegal on Wednesday at St Mura’s parish church, Fahan, on the Inishowen peninsula.
Mr Moloney was a native of Co Donegal and covered the Troubles in the North while working for the Irish News in Belfast. For most of his career he worked with the Irish Independent and Evening Herald newspapers in Dublin.
He had taken a redundancy package a number of years ago and had travelled in Europe and in southeast Asia.
He had recently moved back to Dublin and was working for the Irish Daily Mail newspaper as a freelance writer.
He is survived by his brother Seán, sister Róisín and girlfriend Chi.
