Gunmen raided a house south of Baghdad, killing five people and a roadside bomb in the capital killed two policemen, part of a wave of violence today that claimed 18 lives.
At a house near Iskandariyah, 30 miles south of Baghdad, gunmen killed five Sunni family members, army Col. Hussein Sheyaa said. A roadside bomb also exploded in Baghdad, killing two policemen
In addition, five members of the Iraqi Islamic party died when a roadside bomb exploded near their headquarters in Al-Khalis, 10 miles east of Baqouba.
Police also said they found the bodies of six men who had been blindfolded, shot and dumped at a sewage plant in southeast Baghdad.
