Paris - In a landmark court case, a 47-year-old Frenchman went on trial yesterday accused of raping an 11-year-old girl during a sex holiday in Thailand.
Amnon Chemouil, a public transport worker from Paris, is the first person to stand trial before a French jury under a law passed in 1994 that allows suspects in "sex tourism" cases involving minors abroad to be prosecuted in France.
