Rennes - The French magistrate leading the inquiry into Princess Diana's fatal car crash released the body of the driver, Mr Henri Paul, yesterday for burial, a spokesman for Mr Paul's family said.

Mr Dominique Melo, a friend of Mr Paul's who acts as family spokesman, said he had been informed by telephone of Judge Herve Stephan's decision. It was not clear when the funeral would take place. - (Reuter)
