Monaghan’s Tommy Freeman will miss this evening’s All-Ireland qualifier with Armagh after failing to have an eight-week suspension overturned. Freeman’s appeal to the Disputes Resolution Authority was turned down last night.

Freeman received the eight-week ban following an incident involving Kevin McGuckin during Monaghan’s Ulster quarter-final defeat to Derry back on May 24th.

And after appearing before the GAA’s Central Hearings Committee (CHC) and on Tuesday night the Central Appeals Committee (CAC), he was told by the DRA last night

his ban would stand.

Freeman had argued that the referee hadn’t dealt with the incident, and that the CCCC therefore didn’t have the right to commence disciplinary action.
