Ms Annetta Flanigan, who was kidnapped and freed in Afghanistan last month, was home in Richhill, Co Armagh, last night.
The UN worker who was held for 27 days, returned home following a short holiday with her husband, Mr Jose Maria Aranaz, after their reunion. She landed at Belfast City Airport on Sunday and left by a side entrance to maintain privacy.
Ms Flanigan (43), is a graduate of Queen's University, Belfast, and worked for a time as a solicitor in Portadown, a few miles from her home. She holds both British and Irish nationality.
The Flanigan family yesterday declined to make any appearance or statement.
