Robbie Fowler has been ruled out of Leeds United's UEFA Cup clash against Hapoel Tel-Aviv on Thursday.
Fowler was expected to start on the bench for the first leg of the second-round clash at Elland Road but that has now been branded "a long shot" by a club spokesperson.
The 27-year-old had a light workout in training today but looks set to watch from the sidelines on Thursday.
Fowler was due to play for the reserves last night but missed the game after complaining of soreness in his hip.He had a hip operation in the summer and has not played a first team game this season.
Fowler, who scored in a reserve game last week, will also miss this week's game against Liverpool's second string.
Fellow striker Michael Bridges is poised to figure more prominently in Terry Venables' plans now he is "physically fit" again.
