The state of Florida executed a spree killer, Daniel Remeta, yesterday for the 1985 murder of a convenience store clerk in Ocala, the fourth execution in the state's electric chair in nine days.

Remeta was sentenced to death for the muder on February 8th, 1985, of Mehrle "Chet" Reeder, who was shot four times during a robbery that amounted to $50. He was linked to four other murders across Florida, Texas, Kansas and Arkansas.

Florida resumed executions last week following a one-year hiatus wait as while the courts considered arguments that the electric chair constituted cruel and unusual punishment.
