Four people were rescued yesterday afternoon after they became lost while walking on Lugnaquilla Mountain.
It was the third call-out in a week for the Dublin and Wicklow Mountain rescue team and the neighbouring Glen of Imaal rescue team, which rescued two mountain climbers who had been lost for more than 24 hours from the same area on Wednesday.
Yesterday's rescue took place about 5.30 pm when a climber who was with two friends and a solo walker became seperated from the others as nightfall drew close.
The remainder of the group alerted the mountain rescue team who were able to contact the lost climber by mobile phone and guide him towards his colleagues.
Mountain Rescue vehicles were then dispatched up the forestry tracks to meet with the group and all four people were safely transported down off Lugnaquilla in a 4x4 vehicle.
