A mother of ten children was among four Palestinians who died today as a result of Israeli army attacks.
The 50-year-old woman was shot dead in her backyard by Israeli troops as they moved into a village near the West Bank town of Jenin.
An Israeli army spokeswoman said troops had come under fire from gunmen in the nearby village of Sanur and had returned fire in the direction of Jaba.
The army initially said Palestinian gunmen in Jaba had fired towards troops in the village, but that the soldiers had not returned fire.
A short time later, a 16-year-old Palestinian was shot dead in central Nablus, also in the West Bank, as he was throwing stones at an Israeli patrol, Palestinian medical sources and witnesses said.
Israeli troops shot dead a Palestinian they claim who opened fire on them outside a Jewish settlement in the northern West Bank, an army spokeswoman said tonight.
"IDF forces spotted a suspicious figure who opened fire towardsthem by the fence surrounding Hamra, so they returnedfire and killed him," she said.
Meanwhile, a 70-year-old Palestinian also died earlier in the day of wounds sustained exactly a month ago when the army raided eastern Gaza City, Palestinian medical sources said.
The man was critically wounded on February 6th when an Israeli gunship rained gunfire on a hospital compound, killing two male nurses as they ran outside to see what was happening and calm their patients.
