Two men, aged 18 and 21, died in Co Kerry when the motorbike on which they were travelling collided with a car one mile outside Castleisland. The accident occurred shortly after 6.00 p.m. yesterday. A man and a woman in the car were taken to hospital where their injuries were described as not life-threatening.

In Co Meath yesterday, a 53-year-old woman from Co Dublin died when the car she was driving left the road between Nobber and Castletown, hit a tree, and plunged into a ditch. Meanwhile, a 15-year old girl died in hospital yesterday, a day after the motorcycle on which she was a passenger collided with a car at Cloghan, Birr, Co Offaly.
