Warsaw - Four people were killed yesterday when a bomb went off in a bar that was known as a haunt of local criminals, Polish police said. The blast wrecked the bar in the town of Nowy Dwor Mazowiecki, about 40 km north of the capital, Warsaw.
Crime rates in Poland are no higher than in other parts of eastern Europe. But turf wars between gangs struggling for control of drug, prostitution and extortion rackets occasionally lead to violent incidents.
