A US military vehicle in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul was destroyed by a blast today and four casualties were taken from the scene, witnesses said.
Locals said the Humvee was hit by a rocket-propelled grenade. Scores of US soldiers launched a search of surrounding houses to try to track down the attackers.
There was no immediate comment from the US military.
Earlier today, the US military said one soldier was killed and two wounded in a bomb attack in the restive Sunni Muslim town of Ramadi, 100 km (60 miles) west of Baghdad.
