Gardaí arrested two men in Dublin yesterday following the seizure of what is believed to be be 10kg of heroin.

According to gardaí, the arrested of the two men in their mid-20s in the Templelogue area was part of an operation targeting illegal drug activity in south Dublin.

The men are being held in Terenure and Rathmines Garda stations under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act.

The drugs were seized when a van was stopped in Templeogue. During a follow-up search of an apartment in the Nangor Road area of Clondalkin last night, gardaí recovered what is believed to be 14kg of cocaine and four kg of cannabis.

The total estimated street value of the seizures is believed to be over €5 million.

Elsewhere in Dublin, gardaí from Crumlin arrested two people following a search of a house in Foxrock, Dublin, on Monday night.

The man in his late 20s and woman in her mid 20s are being held under Section 2 of the Misuse of Drugs Act at Crumlin and Sundrive Road Garda stations.

Quantities of what are thought to be cocaine and cannabis herb were seized during the search in Foxrock Green.

During a follow-up search at a house in the Auburn Avenue area of Castleknock yesterday morning, 1.2 kgs of what is believed to be cocaine, with an estimated street value of €100,000, was recovered.
