Four men have been arrested after the seizure of arms and a "large amount" of ammunition in car in Dublin.
The discovery was made yesterday afternoon, and follow-up searches were carried out in the Edenderry area of Co Offaly today.
The Garda arrested two men from Dublin and two from Edenderry are questioning them at stations in Dublin.
A Garda statement said the arms and ammunition were discovered in "an ongoing operation to investigate serious crime countrywide".
