The human bones found behind a wall in Killiney DART station earlier today have been removed to the City Morgue.

The human bones found behind a wall in Killiney DART station earlier today have been removed to the City Morgue.

A full post-mortem will be carried out on the remains in the morgue tomorrow in an effort to establish a cause of death.

Following a preliminary examination by the Assistant State Pathologist, gardaí said foul play was unlikely.

Officers are now examining the posibility the body was that of a person who went missing in the area some years ago.

Part of the station was sealed off earlier following the discovery of the remains by builders working on a wall on the southbound platform.

It is believed items of clothing were also found on a slope leading to the nearby beach.
