CAPE TOWN - An apartheid era police general, Mr Krappies Engelbrecht, yesterday became the first person to be forced to appear before South Africa's Truth Commission. He is one of several former security chiefs the Truth and Reconciliation Commission has subpoenaed to testify about what they knew of human rights abuses.
