Five years for dealing heroin

A Belfast man caught dealing in heroin in O'Connell Street, Dublin, has been jailed for five years by Judge Elizabeth Dunne

A Belfast man caught dealing in heroin in O'Connell Street, Dublin, has been jailed for five years by Judge Elizabeth Dunne. Martin Parke had a further stash of heroin which was found in a follow-up search of a house at North Strand, Rush, Co Dublin. Garda Larry Duggan told Dublin Circuit Criminal Court that Parke was wanted in Britain on similar charges.

Parke (38), Mona Drive, Turf Lodge, Belfast, pleaded guilty to possession of £1,700 worth of heroin at O'Connell Street and Rush last December. Judge Dunne noted that Parke had a drug addiction problem and ordered treatment reports for his sentence review on October 2nd, 2001.
