A former taxi driver found with €300,000 worth of the drug ecstasy in his car has been jailed for five years by Judge Miriam Reynolds at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

Donough O'Brien (31), Cianlea Road, Swords, was to be paid €1,000. He pleaded guilty to possession of the drugs on September 10th, 2003, at the car park of Kealy's pub at Corballis.

Judge Reynolds, in not imposing the mandatory minimum 10-year sentence, took into consideration his early plea of guilty.
