A Dublin man who shot another man twice following a row over a missing dog has been sentenced to five years with one year suspended at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

Christopher Kirwan (42), Dunne Flats, Dublin 1, pleaded guilty to intentionally or recklessly engaging in conduct, namely shooting at Stuart Murphy, at Pinewood Green Road, Balbriggan, on December 8th, 2007.

Judge Desmond Hogan said that Kirwan had committed a very serious offence using a very serious weapon.
