Two Indian security men and three Muslim rebels were killed today in a suicide attack on a state-run radio station in the heart of Indian Kashmir's summer capital Srinagar.
Police said militants detonated a car laden with explosives near the main gate of Radio Kashmir killing a policeman.
Three of them tried to storm into building in the confusion. Federal troops deployed in and around the radio station opened fire killing one of the rebels, while the other two ran away.
"They were engaged in a gunbattle by the security forces in which both of them were killed," a spokesman for India's Border Security Force (BSF) said.
