Rome - Four young Italians died in a car accident at the weekend and another died when when his car was hit by a mudslide as torrential rain swept the country. Venice has been put on flood alert.
Four of the victims died in the south-eastern Puglia region while the mudslide victim died in the north-western region of Val d'Aoste.
