London - Five people were seriously injured yesterday when a German tourist coach smashed through a bus stop, lamppost and scaffolding before crashing through a shop window. Shoppers and workmen were forced to leap out of the path of the coach as it careered on to the pavement on London's busy Regent Street, near Oxford Circus.

Police believe the driver had a heart attack and lost control.
