Gardaí are still questioning five men in Limerick who were arrested yesterday on suspicion of membership of the Continuity IRA.

A sixth man has since been released without charge.

The men were detained during a meeting at the Glentworth Hotel in Limerick city in the early afternoon.

They were taken to Henry Street and Mayorstone garda stations.

It is understood three of those detained are from Dublin, while the others were from Limerick.

A Garda spokeswoman said yesterday the six were being held under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
