Five men have been arrested in Co Kildare in connection with an investigation into dissident republican activities.
The arrests come after a suspected bomb making factory was discovered at a farm.
Two men, one of whom is aged in their 20s and the other in his 50s, were arrested in Monasterevin this morning. A third man, aged in his 40s was arrested later today.
All are currently being held under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act, 1939 at Naas Garda station.
Two more men were arrested late this evening.
One of the men (55) is being detained in Tullamore Garda station while the other (41) is being held in Newbridge Garda station.
Gardaí have sealed off the 30 acre farm where the discovery was made and conducted a technical examination of the property.
