The five young finalists in tonight's Veronica Dunne Singing Competition at the National Concert Hall in Dublin are: Ms Natalie Christie, soprano (Australia); Ms Doreen Curran, mezzo soprano (Ireland); Ms Franzita Whelan, soprano (Ireland); Mr Simon O'Neill, tenor (New Zealand); and Ms Norah Amsellem, soprano (France).
They were selected from a pool of 48 contestants over the weekend. The competition, which carries a first prize of £10,000, is sponsored by the ESB.
