Gardaí in Limerick have seized a number of firearms during a series of planned searches in the Moyross area of the city.
Over 50 properties were searched during the operation which was carried out by a team of 30 Gardaí. The firearms seized include a sub-machine gun, a machine pistol and a rifle. A quantity of ammunition and two balaclavas were also seized. All of the items seized will be technically examined.
No arrests were made and a garda spokesperson said the investigation was ongoing.
