Two units of Dublin Fire Brigade were last night working to extinguish a fire that destroyed part of a grain storage facility in Dublin's docklands on Monday night.

The fire broke out in the R&H Hall flat grain store on Alexandra Road at about 9pm on Monday and was brought under control early yesterday morning. Dublin Fire Brigade said there were no injuries.

R and H Hall, which is owned by IAWS and has four storage sites in the Republic, said the fire would not lead to any job losses.

The cause of the fire is unknown. A Garda spokeswoman said technical experts would examine the site as soon as the fire was put out.
