The meat-processing plant in Roosky, Co Roscommon, damaged by fire yesterday, is unlikely to reopen for some time, the plant’s owners said today.

But Glanbia said the facility is insured for fire damage and consequential loss.

Customers will continue to be served by using available capacity and additional shifts in Glanbia's other two Irish pig processing facilities in Roscrea and Edenderry - and contracted production if required - the company said.
