Luciano Pavarotti has added a second Dublin date to next year's "Farewell Celebration Tour", after the first concert sold out.
Tickets for the extra performance - Saturday May 28th, also at the Point Theatre - went on sale at the weekend, priced from €70 to €165. Promoters MCD said the first date, May 26th, sold out "within a day" of tickets going on sale last week.
The 69-year-old tenor has sold more than 100 million albums in a career boosted in recent years by the "Three Tenors" concerts with Placido Domingo and Jose Carreras. The Dublin performances are billed as his last in this country. The tour includes dates in Europe, North and South America, Asia, New Zealand and Australia.
