Tennis: David Ferrer caused a shock at the Masters Cup this afternoon by beating world number two Rafael Nadal. Nadal started well before Ferrer found his range to complete a 4-6 6-4 6-3 success.
In a battle of two Spaniards, Ferrer effectively beat Nadal at his own game by grinding his way to victory from the back of the court.
The win means Ferrer maintains his 100 per cent record in the Gold Group. However, he is still not assured of a place in the semi-finals with Nadal and Richard Gasquet still in contention.
