NEW YORK - After two months of failure to find proof that a bomb or a missile destroyed TWA Flight 800, investigators are leaning toward mechanical failure as the cause, newspapers reported yesterday.
The New York Times and the Washington Post quoted investigators as saying that the lack of explosive evidence lent credence to a theory that electrical failure or a fire in the centre fuel tank destroyed the Boeing 747 over Long Island on July 17th, killing all 230 people on board.
